Definition and Source
Fly ash cenospheres are lightweight, hollow, micrometer-sized spherical particles found in fly ash from coal-fired power plants. With a density typically lower than water (0.4-0.8 g/cm³), they can float on water, hence the name "cenospheres". Formation of cenospheres: They are formed as tiny particles in coal combustion undergo melting and fusing processes. During coal combustion, a large amount of flue gas is generated, containing numerous tiny particles. These particles undergo high temperature and pressure, expanding and fusing to form hollow cenospheres. These fused hollow cenospheres possess characteristics such as lightweight, porosity, and high temperature resistance, making them have broad application potential in various industrial fields. The hollow structure not only reduces the material's density but also enhances its thermal insulation performance, making cenospheres an ideal lightweight, high-performance material. Properties: high fire resistance, lightweight, thermal insulation, high hardness, high strength, fine particle size, electrical insulation, good fluidity, high filling power, chemical stability, low shrinkage rate.
Product Characteristics
1.High Fire Resistance: The main components are silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide, both having high melting points, giving cenospheres a fire resistance of 1600-1700℃.
2.Lightweight and Thermal Insulation: With thin walls and semi-vacuum cavities, heat conduction is slow. Bulk density is 250-450 kg/m³, and thermal conductivity is 0.08-0.1 at room temperature.
3.High Hardness and Strength: Formed as a hard vitreous body from silicate and alumina oxide minerals, hardness reaches Mohs 6-7, and compressive strength is 70-140 MPa.
4.Excellent Electrical Insulation: After removing magnetic particles, cenospheres are high-performance insulating materials, with resistance increasing as temperature rises.
5.Fine Particle Size and Large Specific Surface Area: Natural particle size is 1-250 micrometers, and specific surface area is 300-360 cm²/g, ready for direct use.
Packed in big bags with each bag weighing 600 kg, and dimensions of 120012001200 mm. Custom packaging is available based on customer requirements.
