Green silicon carbide is manufactured in the same way as black silicon carbide, but the purity of the raw material used is higher, and it is also formed in a resistance furnace at a high temperature of about 2200°C. It is green, translucent, hexagonal, and has a higher Sic content than black silicon carbide.
